Craft & Technology
Explore how the Craft & Technology Department builds creativity and practical skills through Art, Design & Technology, and Nutrition & Food Science.
Our Craft & Technology (C&T) Department brings together three exciting subjects – Art, Design & Technology (D&T), and Nutrition & Food Science (NFS).
At Assumption English School, all Lower Secondary students take Art, D&T, and Food & Consumer Education (FCE) as part of their core curriculum. These hands-on subjects help students develop creativity, problem-solving, and practical life skills – all essential for 21st-century learning.
Whether it’s designing a product, preparing a nutritious meal, or creating a work of art, students learn by doing – and grow in confidence, creativity, and innovation.

Art
Art curriculum is crafted to build students' visual literacy and communication skills, nurturing in them a sense of curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity as they explore and make sense of the world around them.
Design and Technology
Students develop key competencies across design communication, research, ideation, and decision-making. Through our D&T curriculum, they are guided to adopt a reflective mindset — constantly evaluating their work, challenging their own ideas, and seeking improved solutions at every stage of the design process.
Nutrition and Food Science
The curriculum connects learning to real-world contexts through hands-on activities. Students explore the importance of good nutrition and deepen their understanding through investigation and evaluation of food science concepts.
