Technology Enabled Learning

There is no doubt that technological advancements are changing the way we live, work and learn. To stay relevant, our education must evolve in parallel to prepare our students for an increasingly digitalised world. Technology-enabled learning is a key facet of learning at Assumption English School. Since 2024, AES has onboarded the first phase of MOE's EdTech Masterplan 2030 ↗ (opens in new tab). This shows that we're not just keeping up with the times - we're ahead of the curve when it comes to leveraging Education Technology (EdTech) to enhance teaching and learning to a whole new level!

To integrate technology meaningfully into learning, teachers, too, have to upskill themselves. AES strives to provide meaningful opportunities for growth for both teachers and students.

Learning Experiences with Technology

In AES, teachers design technology-mediated lessons based on evidence-based learning approaches (credits: MOE Educational Technology Division). For example, teachers consider the Key Applications of Technology (KATs) when planning how to enhance teaching and learning using technology.

AES teachers carefully select from a wide variety of EdTech tools to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom. A few examples are highlighted below.

The Singapore Student Learning Space (SLS) - MOE's core platform for teaching and learning - is used extensively at AES. By 2026, all AES teachers have completed the SLS certification - a certification by MOE’s Educational Technology Division to enhance teachers’ proficiency in using SLS for teaching and learning.  This highlights AES teachers’ strong competency in assigning SLS resources and authoring their own SLS modules. 

Additionally, AES students get the benefit of learning from exclusively-Apple apps, such as Goodnotes (for note-taking), SketchUp (for Design & Technology) and GarageBand (for Music). This is only possible because the PLD used in AES is an iPad (see page Personal Learning Devices (PLDs) for more information).
